Definition and example
Relative and absolute references means Relative references move when copied; absolute references marked with dollar signs stay fixed. Absolute references are useful for constants such as a tax rate. Practice: Store a tax rate in one cell and reference it absolutely in several row calculations. Try this in the application, check the result, then save your work in your IT Practice folder. If an option is unavailable on your device, use the equivalent Microsoft or Google app and record what you observed For example, Which reference stays fixed when copied? Do this in the named application, inspect the result, and save a clearly named copy. This makes the skill repeatable in school, work and everyday online tasks.
